AM General、JLTV候補BRV-O展示会で出展

AM General LLC は、2012/5/15-16 にかけて Warren で開催された、NDAA (National Defense Industrial Association) のイベント・Defense Industrial Base Expo に、BRV-O (Blast-Resistant Vehicle - Off Road) を出展。

過去の経験を活用して開発した耐爆風型の車両で、カプセル化した乗員区画とモジュラー化した装甲の組み合わせで構成、将来の任務・脅威・防禦技術の変化に対応できるとしている。エンジンは 6 気筒・3.2L の Optimizer 3200 (300HP, 500lb-ft)、セルフレベリング機能付きのサスペンションを備えるほか、C4ISR (Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance) バックボーンにも対応。

なお、AM General の Engineering and Product Development Center (Livonia, MI) は 2012 年 3 月に、JLTV (Joint Light Tactical Vehicle) 計画の EMD (Engineering, Manufacturing and Development) フェーズに対して 2 種類の提案を実施しているが、その JLTV の要求にも BRV-O で対応可能だとしている。
