軽量・迅速着脱により様々なヴィークルでの活用を可能とするジャイロ射撃プラットフォームシステム「TALON」

テキサス州ヒューストンの Paradigm SRP は、軽量でマンポータブルが可能な高精度 MEMS (Micro Electro Mechanical Systems) ジャイロスコープによる射撃プラットフォームシステム「TALON (タロン＝猛禽類のカギ爪) 」の実動プロモーション映像を公開した。

TALON の重量は 54 ポンド (＝ 約 24.5 キログラム) と軽量で、状況に応じて車輌や小型艦艇、回転翼機などでの運用を想定し、容易に着脱ができるよう QD (Quick Disconnect) 方式を採用している。

精密に機械化された 2 軸のタレット内では、最新鋭の軍用ジャイロと高速サーボの他、高度な電子回路が採り入れられており、毎秒数千回にも及ぶ姿勢制御を可能としている。

また、HD カラーモニターと火器管制システムが搭載されたコントローラーを使い、オペレーターは TALON を離れた場所から操作ができる。これら革新的技術の投入によって、動くヴィークルの中からも精確にターゲットを捉えて射撃ができる。
