FBI (米連邦捜査局) の「人質救出チーム (HRT) 」が Aimpoint 製マイクロサイトを採用

米連邦捜査局 (FBI: Federal Bureau of Investigation) のエリートチームがエイムポイント (Aimpoint) 製の光学照準器を採用した。

FBI で人質救出を手掛けるエリート部隊、HRT (Hostage Rescue Team) では、Spuhr マウントに搭載したエイムポイント製の T-2 レッド・ドットサイトが採用された。また、FBI で武器・弾薬などの装備プログラムを管理する DSU (Defensive Systems Unit) では、同じくエイムポイント製の H-2 レッド・ドットサイトが選ばれている。

米国の戦術装備ニュースサイト、ソルジャー・システムズ デイリー (SSD: Soldier Systems Daily) によると、「FBI によって、幅広いメーカーから取り寄せられた様々なオプティクスが厳格なテストに供された」と記す一方で、「L-3 Communications 傘下 EOTech 社のホロサイトの問題が直接的な副産物となったようだ」とも示している。

契約は競争入札過程を経て交わされているとし、エイムポイント社のディーラーはこの 7 月に FBI へ向けて送付しているとのこと。
