GDC4S (General Dynamics C4 Systems) は、先に米陸軍 第1機甲師団・第2旅団が Fort Bliss で実施した NIE (Network Integration Evaluation) において、同社製の AN/PRC-154 Rifleman Radio の IOT&E (Initial Operational Test and Evaluation) が完了したと発表した。

AN/PRC-154は、戦場の最前線で活躍する兵士が携行し易いよう、機能性を向上させながらも、従来機と比べて最大で　20%の小型化を実現。低コスト、耐久性、省電力化も併せておこなっている。

JTRS (Joint Tactical Radio System：統合戦術無線システム) HMS (Handheld Manpack Small Form Fit：歩兵携行用のもので、背負い式) の一種で、SRW (Soldier Radio Waveform) を使用する最初の JTRS 製品でもある。

テストでは車両隊の運用、偵察、対反乱戦、負傷者後送など、さまざまなシナリオの下で AN/APRC-154 を使用したとしている。
