米海軍 NECC (Navy Expeditionary Combat Command) は、6/1付 で河川戦闘部隊の改編を実施。Riverine Group 1 と MESF (Maritime Expeditionary Security Force) を一本化、Coastal Riverine Force ("CORIVFOR" または "CRF") を編成した。

米海軍 NECC の説明によると、CORIVFOR は沿岸海域における海洋遠征治安維持任務 (港湾を初めとする重要施設の警備など) を担当し、いわゆる「ブルー ウォーター ネイビー」と陸上部隊のギャップを埋めるとのこと。
CORIVFOR は、米海軍の Echelon IV グループより、Coastal Riverine Group (CORIVGRU) 1 および 2 で編成される。CORIVFOR の IOC (Initial Operating Capability : 初期作戦能力) は 2012年10月 とし、FOC (Full Operational Capability : 本格稼働) は 2014年10月 に設定している。

7/2付 の NECC 公式 Facebook では、CORIVFOR の公式ファンページを Facebook 上に設置したとしており、今後発信される情報にも注目したい。
